About Us

School Philosophy and Mission Statement

Philosophy
The administration and faculty of Saint Philomena School hold as primary, the belief in God Who is Father and Creator of all; in Jesus, our Savior; and in the Holy Spirit Who continues to guide and give life to His people. We believe that parents have the primary responsibility for the education of their children. The church, school, and civic community are obliged to support and assist them in this process.

We believe that St. Philomena School is a model faith community that teaches Catholic values and provides opportunities to practice a Christian way of life. St. Philomena School is also a community that provides an environment in which our students can develop spiritually, intellectually, socially, psychologically, physically, and aesthetically.

Our program of religious studies, academics, and discipline is designed to bring about our goals. It is assumed that the families at St. Philomena School believe and practice the tenets of this Philosophy, and will cooperate to achieve the goals of the school.

Mission Statement
St. Philomena School, as part of the Catholic School system of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, is dedicated to the growth and development of its students by helping them become responsible and participating members of the Catholic Church and of society.
